Dell V305 is an all-in-one wireless printer that allows you to perform printer-related operations from your Windows computer to the printer over a wireless, wired, or USB cable connection. It supports different media types and comes with color printing, photo printing capability, and more. The latest version of Windows and macOS are not supported by this printer.

If you’re looking to set up the Dell v305 printer for the first time, then follow the simple and easy instructions given below.

  • Initially, unpack the printer box.
  • Inside the printer box, you can find a set of ink cartridges, a setup poster, the Dell v305 printer, USB cable warranty paper, a setup CD, and a power cord.
  • Now, take all the components out of the box followed by the printer.
  • Remove the outer plastic cover surrounding the printer.
  • Place the Dell printer on a table and remove the packing tapes and materials present in the important parts of the printer.
  • After unpacking your printer, start loading paper into its paper support.

  • Make sure that you’re loading the paper type that is recommended by the printer manufacturer.
  • After loading the paper, turn on the printer.
  • Configure the initial printer settings as per your desire.
  • When prompted, install the ink cartridges into their slots.
  • Make sure that the cartridges are unpacked properly before installing them.
  • Once the Dell v305 printer’s physical setup is completed, begin the software installation on your Windows computer.
  • To do so, get the setup CD provided along with the printer.
  • Now, on your Windows computer, open the Control Panel window.
  • Select Hardware and Sound > Printer > Add a Printer.
  • For USB: Connect your Dell printer to the computer using the USB cable. Select Add a local printer followed by the Virtual printer port for USB option from the Use an existing port drop-down menu.
  • For wireless or wired: Connect your printer to the computer over a wireless or wired network. Select Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer. From the list, choose your printer and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • When prompted, click Have disk and insert the printer’s setup CD into your computer’s disk tray. 
  • Install the printer driver by following the on-screen instructions.
  • Finally, print a test page to check whether the Dell v305 printer setup is done correctly.
