Envy 5055 Setup

Unpack:

  • After unboxing the printer, discard the packaging of the printer. 
  • Remove all the tapes from the printer.
  • Lift the ink cartridge access door and pull out the tapes from inside.
  • Then, close the cartridge access door.

Power On:

  • Use the power cord to connect the printer to the wall socket.
  • Press the printer’s power button to turn it on.
  • Now, set the language and region on the control panel.

Insert ink cartridges:

  • Mount the cartridge access door and wait till the printhead stops at a position.
  • Unpack the ink cartridge and take off the protective films on it.
  • Open the ink cartridge slot lid, and push the ink cartridge down until it locks in a position. 
  • Install all the ink cartridges in the same way.
  • Close the access door.

Load paper:

  • Unfold the input tray door and then draw the tray outwards.
  • Shift the paper guides to the paper size you are using.
  • Lay down the paper on the tray having the print side facing down.
  • Move the paper guides to the paper edges to hold the papers, but do not make it tight.
  • Extend the output tray extender.

To align the ink cartridges:

  • Open the scanner lid and keep the alignment page on the scanner glass.
  • Adjust the paper according to the guides on the glass.
  • Now, lower the scanner lid and press OK on the control panel to start aligning.
  • Press the OK button.

  • Connect the printer and your mobile device or computer to the same network.
  • Download the HP smart app from the support website of the printer on your Mac device.
  • Launch the app and choose the corresponding printer option.
  • On the home screen, click on your printer model.

HP Envy 5055 Wireless Setup

  • Keep the Wi-Fi network-enabled and write down the network name & password.
  • The computer and your printer should be connected to this network.

Using the printer control panel:

  • Press the Wireless icon on the printer home screen.
  • Tap on the Settings menu and then select 'Wireless Setup Wizard.'
  • Now, follow the printer display directions to complete the setup.
  • You need to configure the printer for the wireless setup on your computer.

Using HP Smart app:

  • This app is available on Android, iOS, and Windows mobile devices.
  • Download the app on your mobile from the app store or chrome store.
  • Next, switch on the Bluetooth on your iOS or Android device.

How to Connect HP Envy 5055 Printer to Computer

Wired (USB) connection:

  • After setting up the printer, proceed to install the printer driver.
  • During the installation, select the USB connection type when prompted. Use a USB cable to connect the printer to the computer.
  • Once the installation is complete, you can start performing printer functions from your computer over the USB connection.

Wireless connection:

  • See that the printer software is installed on the computer.
  • Switch on the Wi-Fi Direct service on your computer.
