Consider the steps that are given below to set up a static IP address on a Windows 10 computer.

  • Once you have turned your computer on, press the Windows key.
  • Type control panel in the search section and open it. Go to the Network and Sharing Center or Network and Internet section.
  • Open the Network and Sharing Center window and select the Change adapter settings link on the screen's left panel.
  • If you have connected the computer to a wireless network, right-click on the Wi-Fi option. Select the Properties option from the displayed list.
  • For an Ethernet connection, right-click on Local Area Connection and click Properties.
  • Now, select and checkmark the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) box. Go to the Properties tab.
  • Select the Use the following IP address section by clicking on the radio button.
  • Now, type the correct details in the IP address, Subnet mask, and Default gateway fields. Also, enter the preferred DNS server addresses.
  • Make sure to save the changes by clicking on the OK button.
  • Now, your device will be configured and set up static IP address.
