A wireless access point is nothing but a wireless router connected to a modem using a network cable.

Setting up the wireless access point is quite easy if you follow the quick steps mentioned below.

  • First, you have know how to set up a wireless access point to a modem using a standard Ethernet cable.
  • The Ethernet cable from the DSL modem should be plugged into the WAN port of the wireless access point.
  • Next, place the wireless access point in a location where you want to extend the wireless network.
  • Plug the power cord of the access point into an electrical outlet and power it on.
  • Connect the wireless access point and the computer using another Ethernet cable.
  • This time, the Ethernet cable should be connected to the computer’s network port and LAN port of the access point.
  • Boot your computer and open the default browser.
  • Enter the IP address of the access point in the URL field and press the Enter key.
  • On the login portal, enter the default login credentials of the access point and click the Login button.
  • Once you have logged into the administrative interface, change the default login credentials to avoid unauthorized access to your wireless network.
