How To Add Printer In Windows 10

There are different methods to add a new printer to the Windows 10 device. Use any of the below-given methods;

USB connection:

  • Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable.
  • Click the Start icon and then select the Settings menu.
  • In the Settings window, choose the Devices menu and open it.
  • In the next window, click the Printers & scanners option from the left navigation panel.
  • Move to the right-side panel, and select the Add a printer or scanner menu.
  • Pick the correct printer model name from the displayed device names.
  • If you cannot find the printer model name, then click ’The printer that I want isn’t listed.’
  • In the Add Printer window, choose the appropriate printer adding option and click the Next button.
  • Still, if you cannot find the printer, then search the official website of the printer and download the printer driver tools.

Wi-Fi network connection:

  • Turn on the Wi-Fi network, then keep a note of the network ID and the password.
  • On the printer’s display, navigate to the network settings menu and enable the Wi-Fi Network option.
  • Click the Network icon at the right end of the taskbar on the desktop.
  • Select the Up arrow symbol; it displays the available Wi-Fi networks.
  • Connect the computer to the Wi-Fi network by entering the network SSID and the network password.
  • Download the printer driver from the official printer website.
  • Run the printer driver on the computer and complete the installation steps choosing suitable options.
  • Now, the computer and the printer are connected through the Wi-Fi network.

Ethernet network connection:

  • Power up the router, computer, and printer devices.
  • For this, you have to connect the WAN port of the router to the internet.
  • Then, connect the printer and the computer to the LAN ports of the router using two Ethernet cables.
  • Then, complete the printer software installation for a successful wired connection between the printer and the computer.
