The Epson printer not printing due to various reasons. Below are the troubleshooting steps to resolve this problem.

Basic troubleshooting

  • First, check if the Epson printer is turned on.
  • If needed, remove the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Leave it for a few minutes.
  • Now, plug the AC power cord into the wall outlet and the rear port of the Epson printer.
  • Turn on the printer by pressing the Power button.
  • Now, the Power LED stays lit.

Connection between Epson printer & Your Computer

  • Check if the interface (USB or network) cable is firmly connected between the printer and the correct port of your computer.
  • If the interface cable is damaged, replace it with a new one.
  • Note: Do not use any intermediate device for establishing the connection between them.

Printer settings

  • On your Windows computer connected to the printer, hold the Win and R keys together to open the Run dialog box.
  • Type ‘Control Panel’ in the Open field and click the OK option.
  • When you see the Control Panel screen, select the Devices and Printers option.
  • Find your Epson printer and right-click its icon.

Step 1 - Default Printer

Choose the Set As Default Printer option.

Step 2 - Use Printer Offline/Pause Printing

  • Select the See What’s Printing option.
  • Click the Printer tab and remove the checkmark next to the Use Printer Offline option if it is selected.
  • Also, deselect the checkbox next to the Pause Printing option to resolve Epson printer not printing problem.

Stalled Print Jobs

Windows 8.x

  • Go to the Apps screen and select the Control Panel option.
  • Click the Hardware and Sound option and select the Devices and Printers option.
  • Right-click your Epson printer icon and choose See What’s Printing.
  • Select the stalled print job, right-click it, and select Cancel -> Yes.

Windows Vista

  • Click the Start icon and then choose the Control Panel.
  • Click Hardware and Sound followed by Printer. Right-click the model name of your Epson printer and select the Open option.
  • Right-click the unwanted print job and select the Cancel option followed by the Yes option.

Printer Software

  • If you have installed the incorrect printer software, remove it from the computer.
  • Download the correct version of the Epson printer software from the official Epson site and install it as per the on-screen instructions.
