Citizen Cl s703 Setup

Citizen CL S703 is a label printer used for industrial purposes and has high printing ultra speed of 200 mm/sec. It comes under the CS-S700 printer with 300 dpi high resolution and works with massive duty printing technology. The Citizen CLS703 printer prints using the thermal feature and requires no ink to print the labels. The industrial use printer has large media capacity, which rolls up to 200 mm. The printer can be connected using the triple interface system. Overall, the warehouse printer for labels comes with two years of warranty and has six months warranty period for the printhead.

You can follow the procedure given below to set up the Citizen CL S703 printer.Step 1: Unboxing the printer

  • Unpack the printer from its package and take it out from the box.
  • Remove all the tapes, packing covers, and plastic films from the printer.

Check the printer’s accessories which include the following:

  • Two ribbon holders
  • Sample ribbon
  • Paper core
  • Head cleaner
  • Media holder bar
  • Media holder guide 
  • Test label media

Step 2: Fixing label media

  • Open the top cover of the printer by holding the front-upper part support.
  • Press the blue lever to raise the thermal printhead section. Then, lift the sensor arm to load media.
  • Now, fix the media holder bar to its guide and insert the label media into the media holder bar through its core.
  • Connect the media assembly back to the printer such that the media holder guide is on the left side of the printer.
  • Extend the media label roll out of the printhead section.
  • Once you have loaded the media roll, close the sensor arm and adjust the slider on the left side towards the media.

Step 3: Fixing print ribbons

  • Insert the ribbon into one ribbon holder and fix the paper core to the other holder.
  • Connect the holder connected to the ribbon to the upper portion of the printhead.
  • Now, extend the ribbon below the printhead and connect the other roll to the ribbon using a tape. 
  • Fix the other end of the paper core rolled with ribbon to the other end above the printhead.
  • Lower the head unit back to place and close the front cover of the printer.

Step 4: Fixing Power cord

Connect the power cord to the rear side of the printer, in the power cord inlet.

  • Plug the other side of the power cord into an electrical outlet.
  • Turn on the power switch present on the front side of the printer below the control panel.

Step 5: Connecting the printer to your device

  • Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable or an Ethernet cable.
  • You can print from your computer easily after connecting your device.

Citizen Cl s703 Driver Download

Connect the printer to your computer using any interface. The computer recognizes the printer automatically and starts the setup. If not detected, you can download the driver from the official support site of Citizen by choosing your printer model and operating system. Proceed with the steps given below to download and install the driver for the Citizen CL S703 printer on a Windows computer.

  • Open a web page and go to the official website of the Citizen printer.
  • Click the Product menu and select the Printer option from the list.
  • Select Label and choose CL-S703 under the Industrial section.

  • Choose Windows OS and select the version. Then, click Search.
  • Click the required software to start the downloading process.
  • Once the software is downloaded, run the installer file to begin the installation process.

Launch the official Citizen website, and navigate to the printer’s site.Click the Support tab, and select Manuals & Datasheets. Set the category to Label and choose your printer from the list. Then, click Search to view all the manuals. Select the PDF file of the required manual and save it in the desired location. How To Connect Citizen Cl s703 To Computer

  • Make sure to turn off your computer and printer when you are connecting the printer physically.
  • Connect an interface cable to the printer in the correct inlet.
  • Fix the other end of the cable to the computer.
  • For USB connection, connect your computer and printer using a USB cable.
  • For an Ethernet connection, connect the printer to your wireless router using an Ethernet cable. Then, make sure to connect your computer and wireless router. To connect via a network, you will be prompted to enter the username and password of your wireless network.

  • In case there is any dirt present on the printhead, remove the dirt using the head cleaner that came in the package.
  • Check if the ribbon or media label has run out. If you are not using genuine accessories, make sure to use the same type matching the printer model.
  • Remove and replace the media and label if required.
