Canon Printers are reliable, efficient, and popular devices. However, users may encounter some issues in the long run. One of the most common errors is Canon printer paper not feeding straight.

You have to check the following points if your Canon printer is paper not feeding straight.

  • Paper Edge problems: Load paper only in the portrait orientation, regardless of the printing orientation. The Canon printer may not be able to load the paper if there is a problem with the paper's edge. Make sure the paper is not rectangular, creased, folded, torn, decorated with glitter or other damage. Only if the leading edges are straight, the paper can go straight into the rollers. But if the paper's edges are not straight, it can lead to the pop up of the message "Not feeding paper straight."
  • Paper is curled: The Canon printer paper not feeding straight error can arise if the paper in the printer curls in the wrong way such that the rollers of the printers are not able to grab it. If you have noticed, then you need to remove the paper or de-curl. If the paper is printable on both sides, try to print on the other side so that the curl side will go to the opposite side.
  • Stuck with other sheets: This is one more reason for the loading issue. The first sheet might not drop into the rollers because of sticking to the next sheet in a heap. In such a case, loosen the papers and then try to print them.
  • Unclean rollers: The printer may not be able to load the paper if dust is built up on the printer's rollers as the dust reduces the grip of the rollers to grab the paper. You can use a soft cloth to remove the accumulated dust.
